International Day of Play 2026

Build and share
your creation

Upload your class creation before June 10 and be part of the World Play Day gallery. Some creations may be highlighted to celebrate children's ideas, creativity, and playful solutions from around the world.

Watch how it works

Step 1 · Play Session

Run a Play Session with your classroom

Give your students any materials they have available and let them create freely. The only question they need to answer is: what does play mean to you?

How to run your Play Session1 min
What's a Play Session?
A short classroom activity. Students use any materials, building bricks, paper, cardboard, or craft supplies to create anything they can imagine. You photograph what the class makes and share it to the gallery!

Step 2 · Share your work

Share what your class made

Once the session is done, photograph what your students created and upload it through our open form. We'll review it and add it to the gallery. Just make sure to keep children's faces out of the frame.

What can I build?
Anything. A city, a quiet hideaway, a playground, a wild invention. There's no wrong answer. You can build with anything: LEGO®bricks, paper and cardboard, twigs, modeling clay, or even a drawing on a piece of paper.
What to take into account before sharing
Focus on the creation, not on children's faces, for privacy reasons. Photograph the build from above, the students from behind, or simply keep faces out of the frame.

What you could build

Drawing of a peaceful city with apartment buildings and a Ferris wheel.
A LEGO® stage scene with figures arranged around a slide.
A LEGO® outdoor playground with figures, plants and a cat.

Step 3 · Explore

See what classes around the world created

Browse the gallery, discover what students from every continent imagined and built, and interact with their creations. Every classroom tells a different story.

What can I do in the gallery?
Explore creations from schools around the world, leave reactions, and see how different classrooms interpreted the same question. It's a window into what play looks like everywhere.
